The awards were given to these two community-oriented organizations Friday night during the men's basketball game. The organizations chosen have shown the SUNY Plattsburgh campus and the local community what it really means to portray the seven character strengths. SUNY Plattsburgh's Shine On! was chosen as one of five colleges and universities nationwide to receive a 2017 Higher Education Civic Engagement Award from The Washington Center for Internships and Academic Seminars. The program is beyond grateful for this national recognition and couldn't have done it without all the support from home.
