Eclipse Your Doubt, Let Your Light Shine Out Spring 2024
It is with great pleasure and excitement that we announce our 2024 annual overnight conference for 3rd to 5th-grade girls of the North Country! In conjunction with the upcoming solar eclipse, this year's theme is Eclipse Your Doubt, Let Your Light Shine Out, and will be held March 2-3, 2024 at SUNY Plattsburgh’s Memorial Hall.
You will receive a phone call about the conference on Sunday, February 18th around noon, so please be on the lookout for a phone number you do not recognize.
This year's theme is focused on teaching girls how to “eclipse their doubt.” We never want girls to allow anyone else to darken their confidence, and to not allow insecurity to prevent them from reaching their goals.
A series of eight interactive workshops will be offered that encompass our three main themes: media and marketing literacy, character strengths, and upstander communication skills (please see our workshop highlights below).
Girls will be led through the conference by trained SUNY Plattsburgh college mentors.
All cell phones and electronics are strictly prohibited, so please make sure your daughter doesn’t have any tucked away because they will be taken away from them and locked up until they are picked up. The phone number of the Shine On! coordinators will be provided to you in the event of an emergency and you will receive a phone call from your daughter’s mentor soon after she is registered.
