The Shine On! Committee is thrilled to announce that we have been selected to host a downlink from NASA during Mission 65. This downlink will allow students from partnering school districts to have a live virtual conversation with astronauts aboard the International Space Station at our 2021 conference! The conference, currently waiting to be scheduled based on ISS operations and crew member assignments, will be a day full of workshops from educators and STEM professionals from all over New York! We are currently seeking additional educators and STEM professionals to conduct STEM related workshops for our conference. For more information please email us at shineonpsu@gmail.com!

Unfortunately, the coronavirus pandemic has made it impossible to safely host our 2021 Shine On! Conference. However, the Shine On! committee is excited to announce the launch of our new virtual program— Sunny Buddies! As participants of this program, your girls will attend weekly interactive virtual workshops with Shine On! Mentors and other girls from across the North Country. Each of the workshops we have created is a modified version of the workshops we use for the Shine On! Conference. Registration is now open! Make sure you sign up quickly; space is limited and the first day of the program is September 28!

Check out the new Shine On! YouTube channel! With our workplaces and classrooms moving online, we figured we should adapt to the current situation as well, and bring the Shine on! Conference to you. We are so excited to share our first workshop video with you: Character Strengths, brought to you by the Shine On! Committee. We will be posting more workshop videos in the future as the committee works hard to create more content for your girls to enjoy and learn from at home. All of our workshop videos will be posted on our YouTube channel, which is linked in the menu above.
