Shine On!’s Raising Resilient Girls Parent Workshop Series is back. Shine On! is hosting a series of four free workshops this spring designed to teach parents how to raise resilient, confident girls.

March. 7 — Cyb”Her” Safety: How to be a Good Digital Parent: The internet provides benefits that come with many dangers for young girls who have access to a world that now has access to them. Local high school junior, Zoe Danville, and college senior, Sarah Mooney, will be on hand to help parents understand how their daughter is engaging on social media, the risks it comes with and ways to teach her to be smart while using it.
March. 13 — Healthy Her 101: How to be a Mindful Parent: Anxiety is a major mental health problem facing children. Parenting an anxious child can often feel like walking on eggshells. Local elementary teacher, Michelle Gottschall, and certified yoga instructor, Danielle Suarez, will discuss how to manage anxiety and exercise positive mental health with your daughter.
April. 24 — Let’s Talk Parenting: How to be the Best Parent You Can Be: All parents can use some help raising adolescents in today’s challenging world. Local elementary school counselor, Rory LaPage, will provide tips and lead a discussion on how to create a positive supportive environment for your daughters to develop grit, strength and confidence.
May. 7 —Wisdom from the Other Side: How Good Parents Raised Great Kids: Parenting is not easy, has never been easy and will never be easy. However, it can be done and has been done, successfully. Local parents and their grown daughters will give an inside scoop on how to raise resilient daughters from parents who have raised resilient women, sharing tips about what worked for them.
- Workshops will be held on the SUNY Plattsburgh campus at Ausable Hall in the Hermes Room.
- Thanks to the CVPH Foundation, all workshops are free and open to the community.
